Dear beautiful soul,
If you’re lying there right now, wide awake when you wish you weren’t, I’m guessing you’re tired in a way that’s deeper than just needing sleep. Your body is exhausted, your eyes are heavy, but your mind refuses to grow quiet. It keeps replaying old memories, revisiting conversations, worrying about tomorrow, and searching for answers that seem impossible to find in the middle of the night.
If that’s where you are tonight, dear, I want you to know this: I see you. And you are not alone.
It actually makes sense that your mind is busy. People who care deeply, love deeply, and carry deep compassion for others often struggle to find rest when the world goes silent. Your heart notices things. It remembers things. It hopes for things. There is nothing wrong with you for feeling so much.
But for this moment, please remember something important.
You do not have to solve every problem before you fall asleep.
You do not have to have tomorrow figured out tonight.
You do not have to carry every burden by yourself.
The night was never meant to become a courtroom where your worries put you on trial. It can also be a place of surrender, a place where tired hearts are allowed to simply rest.
So take a slow, gentle breath.
Imagine a warm light surrounding you. Soft as moonlight. Gentle as kindness. Steady as love. Let it settle over your anxious thoughts, your unanswered questions, and the places within you that feel weary and worn.
Let yourself be held by the simple truth that you don’t need all the answers right now.
Maybe tonight isn’t about fixing your whole life.
Maybe tonight is simply about resting your heart.
Your worth has never depended on how productive you are, how much you accomplish, or how strong you appear to be. You are enough right now, exactly as you are. Not when everything is perfect. Not when you’ve figured it all out. Right now.
And this season you’re walking through? It is not the end of your story.
The darkness may feel long, but dawn is already making its way toward you.
Healing is happening, even when you cannot see it.
Strength is growing, even when you feel weak.
Hope is quietly taking root, even in the places that feel broken.
So if all you can do tonight is breathe, trust, and take one moment at a time, let that be enough.
Because one day you will look back and realize that this night did not defeat you. You made it through. You kept going. And the light you were searching for was already finding its way to you.
Until then, be gentle with yourself.
Your heart deserves the same compassion you so freely give to others.
Sleep will come.
Peace will come.
And brighter days are closer than you think.
With care and hope,
Relatable Joe
